So i am writing this post for everyone who wish to know about blogging. Everyone who wish to start his very own blog.
Starting a blog is as simple as ABC. Here i have summed up the whole procedure of blog setup in 4 steps.
Register a domain name :
Domain Name
A domain name is an identification string that defines a realm of administrative autonomy, authority, or control on the Internet. Domain names are formed by the rules and procedures of the Domain Name System (DNS).
What the heck was that ? OK, let me explain this to you in simple words. A domain name is something like “www.google.com”. Your domain name will be the address that people will enter in their browser when they want to read read your blog.
There are several websites that provide you with domain registration service. Few domain registrar websites which i personally recommend are :
- Godaddy.com
- Namecheap.com
- Bigrock.in
Buy some Hosting space :
Web Hosting
A web hosting service is a type of Internet hosting service that allows individuals and organizations to make their website accessible via the World Wide Web. Web hosts are companies that provide space on a server owned or leased for use by clients, as well as providing Internet connectivity, typically in a data center.
Here is the simplified version. Web hosting is nothing but the space where all the data of your blog will reside. It is the server space where all your images, videos and articles will be stored. Some recommended web hosts are :
- Hostgator.com
- Bluehost.com
- Bigrock.in
Update Nameservers :
In computing, a name server is a computer server that hosts a network service for providing responses to queries against a directory service. It maps a human-recognizable identifier to a system-internal, often numeric, identification or addressing component.
In the control panel of your domain, you will need to update the nameservers. By updating the namesevers, you tell your domain that where is all the content of the blog stored.
Where do i find these nameservers ? Don’t worry, as soon as you buy web hosting, your web host will send you the nameserver details, right to your inbox.
Install WordPress :
WordPress
WordPress is a free and open source blogging tool and a dynamic content management system (CMS) based on PHP and MySQL. WordPress is the content management system which will manage all your images, videos, posts and other stuff.
Installing WordPress is a simple deal. Most of the web hosts now provide with “One click WordPress installation”.
That’s it. You are done. You have setup your blog. Now you can start posting articles from your WordPress Dashboard.
